The not so traditional natural stone bench consists of 1 stone suitable for sitting on. High enough to be comfortable, with a flatter area for sitting. They are often used in public areas, due to their sturdiness.

The larger the stone the fewer that will fit on a pallet. Therefore a 1-rock boulder is rather large (approximately 2500 + lbs.) and conversely a 12-rock boulder would be rather small, closer to 200lbs.

They are usually higher profile than landscaper stone which tend to be a little flatter, however, a flatter boulder could be considered a landscape stone, or a rounder landscape stone could be considered a boulder. Larger boulders make impressive centerpieces to landscapes, and are widely used in landscaping, waterfalls, rock gardens, garden ponds, and many more.
